Air Fryer Apple Fritters are a lighter, healthier version of the classic deep-fried fritter, with a sweet cinnamon flavor, fresh apple chunks, and a crispy exterior. They are easy to make in your air fryer, offering a fluffy interior and a golden, crisp crust.

Ingredients

1 cup self-rising flour

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

2 tsp sugar

1 tbsp cinnamon

1 apple, large size, peeled and chopped

1 cup confectioners sugar (for glaze)

2 tbsp milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix self-rising flour, sugar, and cinnamon. Add Greek yogurt and combine until smooth. Fold in chopped apples, creating a thick, sticky batter.
  2. Scoop about 2 tablespoons of batter for each fritter and form round or oval shapes by hand. Optionally flatten to resemble traditional fritters.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray. Place fritters in the basket, ensuring they aren’t overcrowded. Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  4. While the fritters cook, whisk together confectioners’ sugar and milk to create a smooth glaze. Adjust consistency by adding more sugar or milk as needed.
  5. Once fritters are done, remove from the air fryer, let them cool slightly, then drizzle or dip them into the glaze before serving.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, use a gluten-free self-rising flour blend.

Substitute with other fruits like pears or berries for a different flavor.

For a vegan version, use non-dairy yogurt and a flax egg in place of Greek yogurt and eggs.

If the fritters become too thick, you can add a splash of milk to loosen the batter.
