Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, these Air Fryer Baked Potatoes are an effortless and healthier alternative to traditional oven-baked potatoes. Perfectly cooked in just 30-38 minutes, they make a delicious side dish or a comforting main when loaded with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Potatoes

  • 23 russet potatoes

Seasonings

  • Olive oil, as needed
  • Kosher salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Wash and dry the russet potatoes thoroughly. Rub each potato with olive oil, ensuring an even coating, and sprinkle kosher salt generously over the skin. Prick the outside of each potato several times with a fork to allow steam to escape during cooking.
  2. Air Fry Potatoes: Place the prepared potatoes into the basket of the air fryer, making sure they are spaced apart for even cooking. Set the air fryer temperature to 400°F (204°C) and cook for 30 minutes.
  3. Check Doneness: After 30 minutes, pierce a potato with a fork to check tenderness. If the fork does not go in smoothly, continue cooking for an additional 5 to 8 minutes until the potatoes are fully cooked through.
  4. Serve: Using oven mitts, carefully remove the hot potatoes from the air fryer. Slice each potato open lengthwise, pinch the ends to fluff the interior, and add your favorite toppings before serving.

Notes

  • For crispier skin, you can increase the olive oil amount slightly before seasoning.
  • Cooking time may vary depending on the size of the potatoes and the specific air fryer model.
  • Russet potatoes are preferred for their starchy texture, but Yukon Gold potatoes can be used for a creamier inside.
  • Be cautious when removing hot potatoes from the air fryer basket—use oven mitts to avoid burns.
  • Feel free to customize toppings such as sour cream, chives, cheese, or bacon bits for extra flavor.
