Air Fryer Cinnamon Twists are a quick, easy, and delicious treat that combines crispy, cinnamon-sugar goodness with a soft, pillowy interior. Perfect for breakfast, dessert, or a sweet snack, these twists are made healthier with the air fryer.

Ingredients

For the dough:

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons granulated sugar (or sweetener of choice)

3/4 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

For the cinnamon sugar coating:

3 tablespoons butter, melted

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Stir until well mixed.
  2. Add the Greek yogurt and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, and mix until a dough forms. Knead it for a minute or two to bring everything together into a smooth dough.
  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into strips (about 1 inch wide) using a knife or pizza cutter.
  4. Twist each strip into a spiral or simple twist shape, pressing the ends lightly to secure them.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). While it heats, prepare the cinnamon sugar coating by mixing the melted butter, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Brush each twisted dough piece with the melted butter mixture, ensuring they are coated well.
  7. Place the twisted dough pieces into the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each one. You may need to cook in batches.
  8. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  9. Remove from the air fryer and brush with any remaining butter and cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Glaze option: Drizzle a glaze made from powdered sugar and milk for a sweeter finish.

Stuffed twists: Add Nutella, peanut butter, or cream cheese in the center for an indulgent twist.

Use flavored yogurt: Try vanilla or cinnamon Greek yogurt to enhance the dough flavor.

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.

Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer for 1-2 minutes at 350°F (175°C) to crisp them up again.
