Crispy, golden, and flavorful Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan French Fries with a savory garlic parmesan coating. A healthier alternative to deep-fried fries, perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish.

Ingredients

4 medium potatoes, cut into ¼-inch thick sticks (Russet, sweet potatoes, or Yukon work well)

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons cornstarch

2 teaspoons garlic powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon dried basil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

½ cup grated parmesan cheese

12 cups garlic parmesan sauce, for garnish or dipping

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes if desired, then cut them into ¼-inch thick sticks.
  2. Soak the potatoes in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch. Drain and pat completely dry.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the potatoes with cornstarch until evenly coated.
  4. Add olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, parsley, basil, oregano, and thyme. Toss to coat thoroughly.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  6. Arrange potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 15–18 minutes, shaking halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  7. Remove fries and toss immediately with grated parmesan cheese.
  8. Drizzle with garlic parmesan sauce or serve on the side for dipping.

Notes

Soaking the potatoes improves crispiness but can be skipped if short on time.

Russet potatoes give the crispiest results, though Yukon and sweet potatoes work well too.

For extra flavor, add chili flakes, truffle oil, or fresh herbs.

Reheat leftovers in the air fryer at 350°F for 3–5 minutes to restore crispiness.
