Apple & Brie Crostini with Hot Honey is an elegant yet easy appetizer made with toasted baguette slices, creamy brie, crisp apple, fresh arugula, and a drizzle of spicy-sweet honey. Perfect for parties, holidays, or a quick snack with wine.

Ingredients

1 french baguette, cut diagonally into 1/2 inch slices

8 ounces brie cheese, sliced

1 large honeycrisp or granny smith apple, thinly sliced

1 cup arugula

2 tablespoons honey

½ teaspoon hot sauce (or pinch of cayenne pepper)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 5–7 minutes until lightly toasted.
  3. Top each slice with a piece of brie and return to oven for 3–4 minutes, until cheese just begins to melt.
  4. Remove from oven and top each crostini with a slice of apple and a few arugula leaves.
  5. Mix honey and hot sauce (or cayenne) together until smooth to make hot honey.
  6. Drizzle hot honey over crostini just before serving.

Notes

Add chopped walnuts or pecans for crunch.

Swap apples for pears for a different flavor.

Use plain honey for a sweeter version, or increase hot sauce for extra spice.

Best served fresh, but you can toast baguette slices ahead and assemble right before serving.

Use gluten-free bread for a gluten-free version.
