Ingredients

1 large ripe avocado

1 cup buttermilk (more to reach the desired consistency)

¼ cup cilantro

¼ cup parsley

1 tablespoon fresh dill

Juice of 1 lime

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a blender or food processor.

  • Add the buttermilk, cilantro, parsley, fresh dill, lime juice, garlic, onion powder, chili powder, and salt.

  • Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.

  • If the dressing is too thick, add more buttermilk, a little at a time, until it reaches your desired consistency.

  • Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt, lime juice, or chili powder if necessary.

  • Pour the dressing into a jar or bottle and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper.

For a vegan version, replace buttermilk with a non-dairy milk (like almond or oat milk) and omit dairy ingredients.

Use Greek yogurt instead of avocado for a lighter, tangy version.
