Baked Feta with Honey is a Greek-inspired dish featuring creamy feta wrapped in flaky filo pastry, baked until golden, and finished with a drizzle of honey and sesame seeds for a sweet-savory balance.

Ingredients

1 block (200 g) Greek feta cheese

4 sheets filo pastry

3 tbsp olive oil, for brushing

2 tbsp honey, plus extra for drizzling

1 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted (for garnish)

1 tsp olive oil spray (optional, for air fryer)

Parchment paper or silicone liner (optional, for air fryer)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut block of feta in half to make two smaller rectangles.
  3. Lay one sheet of filo on a clean surface, brush with olive oil, and place a piece of feta in the center.
  4. Fold filo around the cheese like a parcel, brushing each layer with oil. Repeat with the second piece of feta.
  5. Place parcels on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake 20–25 minutes, until golden and crisp.
  6. Drizzle honey over baked parcels and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.

Air Fryer Method:

  1. Preheat air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare parcels as above, then place on parchment or silicone liner in basket.
  3. Spray lightly with olive oil and cook 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.

Notes

Add oregano or thyme inside the parcel for extra flavor.

Drizzle balsamic glaze along with honey for a tangy twist.

Top with crushed pistachios or walnuts instead of sesame seeds.

Best served fresh but can be stored and reheated in oven/air fryer.

Keep filo pastry sheets covered with a damp towel while working to prevent drying.
