Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry is a classic and flavorful dish featuring tender beef and crisp broccoli coated in a savory, slightly sweet stir-fry sauce. Quick and easy, this dish is perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

1 lb beef (tender cut)

34 cups broccoli florets

1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tsp cornstarch

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 tsp baking soda

Oil (for cooking meat)

1/4 cup oyster sauce

1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce

1 cup water

1 tbsp cornstarch

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef Marinade: Slice the beef thinly against the grain. Combine with 1 tbsp soy sauce, garlic, cornstarch, black pepper, and baking soda. Let marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Cook the Broccoli: Blanch broccoli in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Make the Stir-Fry Sauce: Whisk together oyster sauce, soy sauce, water, cornstarch, brown sugar, and black pepper.
  4. Cook the Beef: Heat oil in a wok or skillet over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked. Remove and set aside.
  5. Stir-Fry the Broccoli: Add oil to the pan and stir-fry the broccoli for 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  6. Combine and Serve: Return beef to the pan and stir in the sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes until sauce thickens and everything is well coated. Serve over rice or noodles.

Notes

For extra vegetables, add bell peppers, carrots, or snap peas to the stir-fry.

To make it spicier, add chili flakes or chili paste to the sauce.
