Juicy, tender meatballs made from ground beef are simmered in a rich, savory mushroom gravy enhanced with Worcestershire sauce and garlic. Perfect for cozy family dinners or entertaining guests, this recipe is easy to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Meatballs:

1 lb ground beef

½ small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 egg

Salt & pepper to taste

½ cup breadcrumbs

¼ cup grated parmesan (optional)

Gravy:

2 tbsp butter

1 ½ cups sliced mushrooms

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tbsp flour

1 ½ cups beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and parmesan (if using). Mix gently until just combined.

  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1½ inches in diameter.

  3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides until cooked through (about 8-10 minutes). Remove meatballs and set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, melt butter. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until browned and softened, about 5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook 1 minute more.

  5. Sprinkle flour over mushrooms, stirring to coat. Cook 1-2 minutes to remove raw flour taste.

  6. Gradually whisk in beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until gravy thickens, about 3-5 minutes.

  7. Return meatballs to skillet, spoon gravy over them, and simmer together for 5 minutes to blend flavors.

  8. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed. Serve hot.

Notes

Parmesan cheese is optional but adds a rich depth to meatballs.
