These Air Fryer Cabbage Steaks are a simple yet flavorful way to prepare cabbage, creating a crispy exterior while keeping the inside tender. With a savory seasoning of garlic, paprika, and a squeeze of lemon, these keto-friendly, low-carb cabbage steaks are the perfect healthy side dish or light main course.

 

Ingredients

1/2 cabbage head

1/2 lemon (juice)

1 teaspoon oil

1 teaspoon granulated garlic

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Prepare the cabbage: Cut the cabbage in half and remove the core. Slice each half into about 1-inch thick “steaks.”

  • Season the cabbage: In a small bowl, combine oil, granulated garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Brush the seasoning mixture evenly on both sides of the cabbage steaks.

  • Air fry the cabbage: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the cabbage steaks in the air fryer basket, making sure they aren’t overlapping. Air fry for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy on the edges.

  • Finish with lemon: Once cooked, squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cabbage steaks for a tangy flavor boost.

  • Serve: Serve immediately as a side dish or light main course.

Notes

For extra flavor, try adding grated Parmesan or your favorite cheese during the last 2 minutes of air frying.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or cayenne pepper for a spicy twist.

For an herbaceous touch, incorporate fresh or dried thyme, rosemary, or oregano.
