Brats in a Blanket is a fun and savory twist on the classic pigs in a blanket. Juicy bratwurst wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough, topped with caramelized onions and melted cheddar cheese, delivers a flavorful bite. Ingredients

4 fully cooked bratwursts, cut in half

1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough

1 ½ cups caramelized onion

1 teaspoon water

1 large egg

1 ½ cups cheddar cheese, shredded

1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Prepare the Bratwursts: Cut the bratwursts in half, yielding 8 pieces. Set aside.

  • Prepare the Crescent Roll Dough: Open the can of crescent roll dough and separate into individual triangles.

  • Assemble the Brats: Place a piece of bratwurst on the wide end of each crescent roll triangle. Top with about 1 tablespoon of caramelized onions and a generous sprinkle of shredded cheddar cheese.

  • Roll Up the Brats: Roll the dough around the bratwurst, starting from the wide end, enclosing it tightly.

  • Brush with Egg: Whisk the egg and 1 teaspoon of water together. Brush the egg wash over each wrapped brat.

  • Sprinkle with Everything Bagel Seasoning: Sprinkle everything bagel seasoning on top of each brat for added flavor.

  • Bake: Place the wrapped brats on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown and fully cooked.

  • Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Serve immediately and enjoy!
