Broiled Grapefruit with Honey Yogurt and Granola is a bright and refreshing dish where grapefruit is caramelized under the broiler and paired with creamy yogurt, honey, and crunchy granola. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a light dessert.

Ingredients

3 grapefruits (sweet varieties like Texas Rio Star are ideal)

6 tbsp cane sugar or Turbinado sugar (or a mix)

Pinch of ground ginger

Pinch of ground cinnamon

Pinch of fine salt

Greek yogurt or thick goat’s yogurt

Honey, for drizzling (optional)

Granola (a few handfuls)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler to high and position the oven rack 4–6 inches from the heat source.
  2. Cut grapefruits in half crosswise. Optionally, loosen the segments with a small knife for easier eating.
  3. Place grapefruit halves cut side up on a baking sheet.
  4. Sprinkle evenly with sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
  5. Broil for 5–7 minutes, until the sugar is bubbling and caramelized.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  7. Serve warm with yogurt, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of granola.

Notes

Best served fresh, but can be refrigerated for up to 1 day.

Use maple syrup or brown sugar instead of cane sugar for variation.

Swap granola with toasted nuts or seeds for added protein.

For dairy-free, use coconut or almond yogurt.

Broil carefully to avoid burning the sugar.
