Cake Batter Dip is a sweet, creamy, and fun dessert dip made with cake mix, whipped cream, and sour cream, finished with colorful sprinkles. It’s a quick and indulgent treat perfect for parties, gatherings, or a fun snack.

Ingredients

1 cup heavy cream

¼ cup confectioners’ sugar

1½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract

2 cups confetti cake mix

½ cup sour cream

¼ cup rainbow sprinkles, plus more for finishing

Vanilla wafer cookies, as needed for serving

Instructions

  1. Whip the Cream: In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream with confectioners’ sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form (about 3-4 minutes with a hand or stand mixer).
  2. Mix the Cake Batter: In another bowl, combine the confetti cake mix and sour cream. Stir until smooth and well combined.
  3. Combine: Gently fold the whipped cream into the cake mix mixture, being careful not to deflate the whipped cream. Continue folding until fully combined.
  4. Add Sprinkles: Stir in ¼ cup rainbow sprinkles for a colorful appearance.
  5. Chill (Optional): While you can serve immediately, chilling the dip in the fridge for 30 minutes to an hour helps the flavors meld together.
  6. Serve: Transfer to a serving bowl, sprinkle with additional rainbow sprinkles, and serve with vanilla wafer cookies for dipping.

Notes

For a different flavor, substitute the confetti cake mix with chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry cake mix.

For added texture, mix in mini chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or chopped candy.

For a dairy-free version, swap coconut cream for heavy cream and use non-dairy yogurt in place of sour cream.
