Cheese Bread is a soft, savory quick bread loaded with melted cheese and a hint of garlic, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or as a delicious side. This easy-to-make loaf has a tender crumb and rich cheesy flavor, making it a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

¼ cup butter, melted

1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

2 eggs

1 cup milk

1 tbsp sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder (if using), and sugar.

  • In another bowl, beat eggs with milk and melted butter until combined.

  • Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

  • Fold in shredded cheese, reserving a small handful for topping.

  • Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.

  • Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.

  • Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting results.

Omit garlic powder if you prefer no garlic flavor.

For gluten-free, substitute with gluten-free flour and baking powder.

Store wrapped at room temperature or freeze for longer storage.
