Cheese Bread is a soft, savory quick bread loaded with melted cheese and a hint of garlic, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or as a delicious side. This easy-to-make loaf has a tender crumb and rich cheesy flavor, making it a crowd-pleaser for any occasion.
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
¼ cup butter, melted
1 ½ cups shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, garlic powder (if using), and sugar.
In another bowl, beat eggs with milk and melted butter until combined.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
Fold in shredded cheese, reserving a small handful for topping.
Pour batter into prepared loaf pan and sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Use freshly shredded cheese for best melting results.
Omit garlic powder if you prefer no garlic flavor.
For gluten-free, substitute with gluten-free flour and baking powder.
