This indulgent Chocolate Lasagna is a no-bake layered dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo cookie crust, a creamy sweetened cream cheese layer, a rich chocolate pudding layer, and a fluffy whipped topping crowned with miniature chocolate chips. Perfect for serving a crowd, it combines smooth textures and chocolatey flavors in a visually appealing casserole-style dish.

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 package Oreo cookies
  • 6 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • Cooking spray

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk or cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups whipped topping

Pudding Layer

  • 2 (3.9 ounce) packages chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 1/4 cups milk

Topping

  • 3 cups whipped topping (such as Cool Whip, thawed)
  • 1 bag miniature chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Coat a 9″x13″ pan with cooking spray. Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until fine crumbs form. Transfer the crumbs to a bowl, add melted butter, and stir until fully combined. Firmly press the mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan using your fingers or the bottom of a measuring cup. Freeze the crust for 10 minutes to set.
  2. Make the cream cheese layer: In a mixer bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy. Add sugar, milk or cream, and vanilla extract; continue beating until smooth. Gently fold in 1 1/2 cups of whipped topping until combined. Spread this mixture evenly over the chilled Oreo crust. Place the pan back in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to chill.
  3. Prepare the pudding layer: In a bowl, whisk together chocolate pudding mixes and 3 1/4 cups milk until smooth and thickened, about 2-3 minutes. Spread the pudding evenly over the cream cheese layer. Return the pan to the freezer for another 10-15 minutes to set the pudding.
  4. Add the topping: Spread or pipe 3 cups of whipped topping evenly over the pudding layer. Sprinkle miniature chocolate chips on top for garnish. Cover the dish loosely and chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours or up to 3 days to let layers set completely.
  5. Serve: For clean slices, place the pan in the freezer for 30 minutes before cutting. Then slice into squares and serve chilled.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is sufficiently softened for smooth mixing.
  • Freezing between layers helps maintain distinct layers and ease of spreading.
  • The dessert can be prepared a day ahead for convenience and better flavor melding.
  • Use full-fat cream cheese and pudding for best texture and richness.
  • For a dairy-free option, substitute with vegan cream cheese, dairy-free pudding mixes, and whipped toppings.
