This Cranberry Bourbon Cocktail is a festive drink combining tart cranberry juice, smooth bourbon, and a fragrant rosemary-sage syrup. It’s bold, aromatic, and perfect for holiday gatherings or anytime you want a sophisticated cocktail.

Ingredients

2 ounces bourbon

2 ounces cranberry juice (100% juice, unsweetened)

1/2 ounce rosemary sage simple syrup*

Splash of freshly squeezed lemon juice

Fresh rosemary and sage, for garnish

Rosemary Sage Simple Syrup:

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

3 sprigs fresh rosemary

3 sprigs fresh sage

Instructions

  1. Make the rosemary sage simple syrup: In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Add rosemary and sage, steep for 10 minutes, then remove from heat. Cool, strain, and store.
  2. Fill a shaker with ice. Add bourbon, cranberry juice, rosemary sage syrup, and lemon juice.
  3. Shake well until chilled, then strain into a glass filled with ice.
  4. Garnish with fresh rosemary and sage sprigs.
  5. Serve immediately.

Notes

Top with club soda or sparkling water for a lighter version.

Swap lemon juice with orange juice for a different citrus note.

Use pomegranate juice instead of cranberry for a twist.

Adjust sweetness by adding more or less syrup.

Serve in an old-fashioned glass with a large ice cube for a classic presentation.
