Creamy Buldak Noodles is a spicy and rich Korean-inspired noodle dish featuring extra hot chicken buldak noodles combined with mozzarella and double cream for a luscious texture. Enhanced with garlic and spring onion, and garnished with boiled egg, chili flakes, and sesame seeds, it offers a perfect balance of heat and creaminess in a quick and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 pack extra hot chicken buldak noodles (black packaging)
  • 375ml boiling water
  • 5 tbsp grated mozzarella
  • 2 tbsp double cream
  • 1 spring onion, finely sliced
  • 1 tbsp oil

Toppings

  • Boiled egg
  • Chilli flakes
  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prepare the garlic: In a medium-sized frying pan over medium heat, add 1 tablespoon of oil and the finely chopped garlic. Fry the garlic until it turns golden, stirring frequently to avoid burning and to release its aroma.
  2. Cook the noodles: Remove the noodles from the pack and place them in the frying pan. Pour in 375ml of boiling water and increase the heat to high. Allow the noodles to simmer until fully cooked and most of the water has evaporated, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  3. Add sauce and cream: Stir in the sauce packet that came with the noodles along with 5 tablespoons of grated mozzarella and 2 tablespoons of double cream. Be cautious with the sauce as it can be very spicy – start with a small amount if you prefer less heat, then adjust to taste.
  4. Finish with spring onion: Mix in the finely sliced spring onion to add freshness and mild onion flavor to the creamy, spicy noodles.
  5. Garnish and serve: Plate the noodles and top with your choice of toppings such as a boiled egg, a sprinkle of chili flakes, and sesame seeds to add texture, extra heat, and nuttiness. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sauce packet to control the spiciness according to your preference.
  • For a vegetarian option, use vegetarian buldak-style noodles and omit chicken flavorings.
  • You can substitute mozzarella with other melty cheeses like cheddar or gouda if preferred.
  • The dish cooks quickly, so prepare all ingredients beforehand to ensure smooth cooking.
  • Additional vegetables such as spinach or mushrooms can be added for extra nutrition and flavor.
