Crispy Air Fryer Buffalo Cauliflower is a healthier alternative to buffalo wings, featuring crispy cauliflower florets coated in a tangy, spicy buffalo sauce. It’s easy to make, full of flavor, and perfect for vegan-friendly snacks, appetizers, or side dishes.

Ingredients

1 medium head of cauliflower, cut into florets

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup water

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cauliflower: Cut the cauliflower into bite-sized florets and set them aside.
  2. Make the Batter: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, water, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth, creating a batter with a consistency similar to pancake batter.
  3. Coat the Cauliflower: Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, ensuring it’s fully coated. Shake off any excess batter.
  4. Air Fry the Cauliflower: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Arrange the battered cauliflower florets in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they aren’t crowded. Air fry for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the cauliflower is golden brown and crispy.
  5. Make the Buffalo Sauce: While the cauliflower is cooking, in a small bowl, mix together the hot sauce and melted butter until fully combined.
  6. Toss in the Buffalo Sauce: Once the cauliflower is done, remove it from the air fryer and toss the florets in the buffalo sauce until fully coated.
  7. Serve: Serve the crispy buffalo cauliflower hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese, and enjoy!

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the cauliflower florets are coated evenly and avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket.

If you’re looking for a vegan option, substitute the butter with plant-based butter.

Experiment with different sauces like barbecue or teriyaki for a unique twist.

For an even spicier version, add cayenne pepper or extra hot sauce to the batter or sauce.
