Crispy Cheddar Chicken features tender chicken breasts coated in a crunchy, cheesy Ritz cracker and sharp cheddar crust. Baked to golden perfection, this flavorful and easy-to-make dish is perfect for comforting weeknight dinners or casual gatherings, delivering a satisfying crunch without frying.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 sleeve Ritz crackers (about 30 crackers), crushed

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

Salt and black pepper to taste

2 large eggs

2 tbsp milk

2 tbsp butter, melted

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.

  • In a shallow bowl, beat eggs with milk.

  • In another bowl, combine crushed Ritz crackers, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  • Dip each chicken breast into the egg mixture, then press into the cracker and cheese mixture to coat thoroughly.

  • Place coated chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.

  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and the crust is golden and crispy.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For extra crispiness, spray coated chicken lightly with cooking spray before baking.

Substitute cheddar with other cheeses like pepper jack or mozzarella for variety.

Use gluten-free crackers for a gluten-free version.
