Classic Easy Caramel Apples made by dipping crisp apples into creamy melted caramel and rolling in fun toppings like nuts, sprinkles, or chocolate drizzle. A festive and customizable fall treat perfect for parties and family gatherings.

Ingredients

8 Granny Smith apples (or other variety)

4 (4.51-oz) bags soft caramels

3 tablespoons heavy cream

Assorted toppings: chopped nuts, sprinkles, melted chocolate for drizzling, etc.

Instructions

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the apples to help caramel stick.
  2. Remove stems and insert wooden sticks or skewers into the tops.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the caramels with heavy cream over medium-low heat, stirring until smooth.
  4. Dip each apple into the melted caramel, turning to coat evenly, and let excess drip off.
  5. Roll or sprinkle apples with desired toppings before caramel sets.
  6. Place apples on a parchment-lined baking sheet and let cool until caramel is firm.

Notes

Granny Smith apples work best for balancing sweetness, but Honeycrisp or Fuji are good alternatives.

Ensure apples are completely dry and free of wax to prevent caramel from sliding off.

Add heavy cream to keep caramel soft and chewy.

Line trays with parchment or silicone mats to prevent sticking.

For gourmet versions, drizzle with white chocolate and sprinkle with sea salt.
