This Easy Slow Cooker Chili is a hearty and flavorful dish made with ground beef, hot dogs, and a savory tomato-based sauce. Perfect for busy days or casual gatherings, it’s easy to prepare and cooks itself in the slow cooker. Serve it in hot dog buns for a unique twist everyone will love!

 

Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

1/2 cup water

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 tablespoon dried minced onion

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon ground mustard

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Dash of cayenne pepper (optional)

8 hot dogs

8 hot dog buns

Toppings: shredded cheese, finely chopped white onion, pickle relish (optional)

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain excess fat.

  • Transfer the browned beef to the slow cooker.

  • Add tomato sauce, water, Worcestershire sauce, minced onion, garlic powder, ground mustard, chili powder, black pepper, and cayenne (if using). Stir to combine.

  • Slice the hot dogs into small pieces and add them to the slow cooker. Stir to mix well.

  • Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, stirring occasionally.

  • Once ready, serve the chili in hot dog buns. Top with shredded cheese, chopped onions, and pickle relish, or your preferred toppings.

Notes

Substitute ground beef with turkey or chicken for a leaner version.

Add extra spice with more cayenne, jalapeños, or chili flakes.

You can also top the chili with sour cream, avocado, or sliced jalapeños.
