Ingredients

Pasta and Tuna

  • 16 ounces egg noodles
  • 10 ounces canned tuna, drained

Sauce and Cheese

  • 2 – 10.5 ounce cans cream of mushroom soup
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese blend
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Topping

  • ½ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13 inch casserole pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook Noodles: Cook the egg noodles according to the package directions until al dente. Drain the noodles well and return them to the pot.
  3. Mix Ingredients: Stir in the drained tuna, cream of mushroom soup, milk, shredded cheddar cheese blend, salt, and pepper into the noodles until evenly combined.
  4. Assemble Casserole: Spread the noodle mixture evenly into the prepared casserole pan to create a uniform layer.
  5. Prepare Topping: In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs with melted butter, mixing well to coat all crumbs.
  6. Add Topping and Bake: Sprinkle the buttered bread crumbs evenly over the casserole. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crisp.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Just before serving, sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the top for a fresh burst of flavor and color.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, use low-fat cream of mushroom soup and reduced-fat cheese.
  • You can substitute cream of chicken soup if preferred.
  • Make sure to drain the tuna well to avoid a soggy casserole.
  • Add frozen peas or chopped vegetables for extra nutrition and color.
  • This casserole can be assembled ahead and refrigerated before baking; increase bake time slightly if baking from cold.
