A fun and festive fall appetizer made with cream cheese, Velveeta, and cheddar, shaped into a cheese ball and decorated like a scarecrow with crackers, veggies, and olives.

Ingredients

16 ounces cream cheese, softened

1 pound Velveeta, room temperature

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

9 Triscuit crackers (for decoration)

1/2 cup matchstick carrots (for decoration)

1 slice red bell pepper (for decoration)

2 black olives (for eyes)

1 grape tomato (for nose)

1 parsley stem (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine cream cheese, Velveeta, shredded cheddar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until smooth and well blended.
  2. Shape the mixture into a round ball and refrigerate for about 1 hour to firm up.
  3. Decorate the chilled cheese ball: arrange Triscuit crackers on top for a hat, press carrots around the sides for hair, place the red bell pepper slice for a smile, add black olives for eyes, and a grape tomato for the nose. Use a parsley stem as garnish.
  4. Serve with additional crackers, pretzels, or vegetables for dipping.

Notes

Substitute cheddar with pepper jack for extra spice.

Add chipotle powder for a smoky flavor.

Use pretzel sticks instead of carrots for hair.

Prepare the cheese ball ahead and decorate just before serving.

For parties, divide into mini cheese balls for individual servings.
