Base
1 package (12 count) King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls
Cream Cheese Filling
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg yolk
Topping
¼ cup butter, melted
2 tablespoons cinnamon sugar (1½ tablespoons sugar mixed with ½ tablespoon cinnamon)
Powdered sugar for dusting
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
Open the package of King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls and place them in the prepared baking dish, keeping the rolls together as a block.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Using your fingers, create a small indentation in the center of each roll to form a well for the cream cheese filling.
Spoon the cream cheese mixture into the wells of each roll.
Separate the rolls into individual pieces with a knife.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the cinnamon sugar and brush over the rolls, ensuring each one is coated.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cream cheese filling is set.
Dust with powdered sugar and let cool slightly before serving.
For a tropical twist, top the rolls with chopped fresh pineapple before baking.
If you like texture contrast, sprinkle sliced almonds on top before baking for added crunch.
Adjust the sweetness of the cream cheese filling to your preference by adding more sugar.
