A vibrant and spicy hot pepper sauce perfect for adding a zesty kick to your favorite dishes. Made with fresh hot peppers, garlic, herbs, and a touch of vinegar, this sauce is easy to prepare and packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Peppers & Herbs

  • 3 cups hot peppers (whole)
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper (or any colored pepper)
  • 1/3 cup cilantro leaves
  • 1/4 cup mint leaves

Other Ingredients

  • 6 cloves garlic (whole)
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt (Kosher or sea salt)
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar (white or white balsamic)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil (extra virgin)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin, for drizzling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Gather all the fresh ingredients including hot peppers, red bell pepper, garlic, cilantro, and mint leaves to ensure they are clean and ready for processing.
  2. Blend the Sauce: Place the hot peppers, red bell pepper, garlic cloves, coarse salt, vinegar, olive oil (1/4 cup), cilantro leaves, and mint leaves into a food processor. Pulse and process until the mixture reaches a chunky sauce consistency.
  3. Store and Serve: Pour the prepared sauce into a clean mason jar. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over the top to add richness and preserve freshness. Seal and refrigerate. Use the sauce as a condiment to spice up meals as desired.

Notes

  • You can adjust the type and amount of hot peppers depending on your heat preference.
  • Using coarse salt like kosher or sea salt helps balance flavors better.
  • The extra olive oil drizzled on top adds a smooth texture and helps preserve the sauce.
  • Store in the refrigerator and consume within 2-3 weeks for best freshness.
