A refreshing and creamy Iced Vanilla Matcha Latte made with handcrafted vanilla syrup, matcha powder, almond milk, and served over ice for a perfect balance of sweetness and green tea flavor.

Ingredients

Vanilla Syrup

  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Latte

  • ⅓ cup water
  • A handful of ice
  • ½-¾ cup almond milk (or other milk of your choice)
  • 1-2 tablespoon vanilla syrup
  • 1 tsp matcha powder

Instructions

  1. Make the Vanilla Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup cane sugar and 1 cup water. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar completely dissolves. Remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract. Let the syrup cool to room temperature.
  2. Prepare Matcha Concentrate: In a small bowl, whisk 1 teaspoon matcha powder with ⅓ cup water until smooth and no lumps remain, creating a vibrant matcha concentrate.
  3. Assemble the Latte: Fill a glass with a handful of ice cubes. Add 1-2 tablespoons of the homemade vanilla syrup and pour in the almond milk up to about ½ to ¾ cup, depending on your preference for creaminess.
  4. Combine and Serve: Slowly pour the prepared matcha concentrate over the milk and ice to create a beautiful layered effect. Stir gently before drinking to fully enjoy the creamy vanilla matcha flavor.

Notes

  • You can substitute almond milk with oat, soy, or regular milk based on your dietary preference.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of vanilla syrup added.
  • For a stronger matcha flavor, increase the matcha powder to 1½ teaspoons.
  • The vanilla syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
  • Use a bamboo whisk or small frother for best results whisking matcha powder.
