A hearty, indulgent dish with crispy fries, seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and fresh toppings, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

1 bag frozen French fries or 4 large russet potatoes, cut into fries

8 oz ground beef

1 tsp paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup sour cream

¼ cup diced red onion

¼ cup chopped tomatoes

2 tbsp chopped parsley or green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the French fries package or to 425°F (220°C) if using fresh potatoes. Bake the fries until golden and crispy, about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  2. While the fries are baking, heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it apart as it cooks, until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Season the beef with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to combine, and cook for another 1-2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. Once the fries are done, remove them from the oven and place them on a serving plate or dish.
  5. Top the fries with the cooked ground beef, spreading it evenly over the fries.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the beef, then return the loaded fries to the oven for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven and top with sour cream, diced red onion, chopped tomatoes, and parsley or green onions.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

Leftover loaded fries can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.

For best results, reheat the loaded fries in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes to help maintain their crispiness.

You can make the fries and beef ahead of time. Store them separately and assemble and bake when ready to serve.

Frozen leftovers can be wrapped tightly and stored in the freezer. Reheat at 375°F (190°C) until heated through.

For a healthier version, consider using sweet potato fries, lean ground turkey, and reducing the cheese and sour cream.

Feel free to add toppings like avocado, or guacamole for extra flavor.
