This maple bourbon glazed salmon is a quick, elegant dish featuring tender salmon coated in a sweet, tangy, and slightly smoky glaze made with maple syrup, bourbon, and warm spices. It’s restaurant-worthy yet easy enough for a weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

1/2 cup maple syrup (or sugar-free maple syrup)

1/4 to 1/3 cup coconut sugar or brown sugar

1/4 cup bourbon whiskey

1 tbsp orange juice (or 1 tsp apple cider vinegar)

1/4 tsp ground ginger

Optional: pinch of nutmeg

Optional: 3 tbsp chopped roasted salted nuts

16 oz (34 fillets) salmon

Kosher salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine maple syrup, sugar, bourbon, orange juice, ginger, and nutmeg (if using). Simmer for about 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  3. Season salmon fillets with salt and black pepper, then place skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Brush salmon generously with maple bourbon glaze.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes, brushing with extra glaze halfway through, until salmon flakes easily with a fork.
  6. If using nuts, sprinkle them on top before serving.

Notes

Substitute orange juice with lemon juice for a brighter flavor.

Add soy sauce or tamari to the glaze for extra savory depth.

For a smoky twist, sprinkle salmon with smoked paprika before glazing.

The glaze can be prepared up to 3 days ahead and refrigerated.
