This Mediterranean 7-Layer Dip is a vibrant and fresh twist on the classic, packed with creamy tzatziki, flavorful hummus, crunchy veggies, and feta cheese. Perfect for parties, appetizers, or a healthy snack, it’s easy to make and will be a crowd favorite.
Tzatziki Layer:
1 (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup English cucumber, peeled, seeded, and diced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tablespoons plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon dill, chopped (more to taste)
Hummus Layer:
2 (15 ounce) cans garbanzo beans, drained with liquid reserved
1/4 cup reserved garbanzo liquid
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons tahini
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Pinch ground cumin
Toppings:
1 cup English cucumber, peeled, seeded, and diced
1 cup cherry tomatoes, quartered
1/3 cup green onions, sliced
1/4 cup crumbled feta
(Optional) flat leaf parsley, chopped
Make the Tzatziki: In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese, diced cucumber, minced garlic, Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and chopped dill. Mix until smooth. Adjust seasoning with more dill or salt if needed.
Make the Hummus: In a food processor, combine garbanzo beans, reserved garbanzo liquid, lemon juice, garlic, tahini, olive oil, salt, and cumin. Process until smooth, adding more liquid for creaminess.
Assemble the Dip: Layer tzatziki at the bottom of a serving dish. Add hummus on top, followed by diced cucumber, cherry tomatoes, and sliced green onions.
Top and Garnish: Sprinkle feta cheese over the dip, and garnish with parsley if desired.
Chill and Serve: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
This dip can be made a day in advance for enhanced flavor.
To make it vegan, swap out the cream cheese for a vegan alternative and use dairy-free feta.
