Cozy and indulgent Mountain Dew Apple Dumplings made with tart Granny Smith apples wrapped in crescent rolls, baked with a buttery cinnamon-sugar mixture, and topped with fizzy Mountain Dew for a caramel-like sauce.

Ingredients

3 Granny Smith apples

2 packages (16 count) refrigerated crescent rolls

1 stick (1/2 cup) salted butter, melted

3/4 cup white sugar

3/4 cup light brown sugar

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

12 oz Mountain Dew soda

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Peel, core, and slice the apples into 8 wedges each.
  3. Wrap each apple wedge in a crescent roll and place seam-side down in the prepared baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, mix melted butter, white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until combined.
  5. Spoon the butter-sugar mixture evenly over the dumplings.
  6. Pour the Mountain Dew around (not over) the dumplings in the pan.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
  8. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Best with tart apples like Granny Smith to balance sweetness.

Add a pinch of nutmeg for extra warmth.

Can be made with peaches or pears instead of apples.

Serve immediately for the best flaky texture.
