Ingredients

3 ripe peaches (pitted and sliced)

4 cups water

4 black tea bags (or your preferred tea variety)

1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar or honey (adjust to taste)

2 cups cold water

Ice cubes

Peach slices (for garnish)

Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  • Place the sliced peaches into a saucepan and add 4 cups of water.

  • Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the peaches to soften and release their flavor.

  • Remove from heat and add the tea bags. Let it steep for 5 minutes.

  • Remove the tea bags and strain the peach-tea mixture into a large pitcher, discarding the peach pulp (or mash and keep it for extra flavor).

  • Stir in sugar or honey while warm, adjusting sweetness to taste.

  • Add 2 cups of cold water, let the tea cool, and refrigerate until chilled.

  • To serve, pour the tea over ice cubes and garnish with peach slices and mint leaves.

Notes

You can use any sweetener of your choice such as stevia or agave syrup for a sugar-free option.

To make a spiced version, add a cinnamon stick or cloves during simmering.

For a fizzy variation, use sparkling water instead of regular water.
