A delicate and comforting Sakura Latte recipe that blends warm milk with fragrant cherry blossom powder, sweetened with honey, and topped with a light, fluffy whipped cream. This soothing beverage celebrates the subtle floral flavor of Sakura, perfect for a cozy moment.

Ingredients

Milk Base

  • 1 cup / 240 ml / 8 fl oz milk (dairy or dairy-free)
  • 2 tbsp Sakura powder, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tbsp honey (can substitute with maple syrup)

Whipped Cream (Optional)

  • 1/4 cup / 60 ml / 2 fl oz heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Warm Milk and Infuse Sakura: Pour the milk into a small saucepan and add the Sakura powder. Heat over medium-high heat on the stovetop, whisking constantly for about 5 to 7 minutes until the milk is warm, steamy, and the Sakura powder is fully dissolved. Taste and optionally add another tablespoon of Sakura powder for a stronger flavor.
  2. Add Sweetener: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the honey (or your chosen sweetener). Start with one tablespoon and add more if desired to achieve your preferred level of sweetness.
  3. Whip the Cream: Place the cold heavy cream into a small bowl. Using a milk frother or a small whisk, gently whip until the cream becomes frothy and lightly foamy, avoiding stiff peaks to maintain a light texture.
  4. Assemble the Latte: Pour the warm Sakura-infused milk into a cup or mug. Using a large spoon, carefully spoon the whipped cream over the top to create a creamy layer. Sprinkle a pinch of dried Sakura powder on the cream as a delicate garnish.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Serve your Sakura latte warm and enjoy its soothing floral flavor and creamy texture.

Notes

  • You can use dairy or plant-based milk such as almond, oat, or soy milk depending on your preference.
  • Maple syrup or agave syrup can be used as vegan-friendly sweetener alternatives.
  • The whipped cream topping is optional but adds a rich and luxurious texture to the latte.
  • Adjust the quantity of Sakura powder to suit your personal taste for a subtler or more pronounced floral note.
  • Use a small whisk if a milk frother is not available to create a light foam with the cream.
