Salmon Burgers are juicy, herb-infused patties made from fresh salmon, lemon zest, and Old Bay seasoning, pan-seared to perfection. Served on whole wheat buns with crunchy coleslaw, these flavorful and healthy burgers make a delicious alternative to traditional beef burgers.

Ingredients

Salmon Patties:

pounds skinless salmon fillets, cut into 1-inch cubes

1 bunch green onions, minced

1 clove garlic, minced

Zest and juice of 1 lemon

½ cup chopped fresh parsley

1 cup chopped fresh dill

1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Burgers:

3 tablespoons coconut oil (or neutral oil)

4 whole wheat hamburger buns

2 cups prepared coleslaw

Instructions

  1. Pulse salmon cubes in a food processor until coarsely chopped (not pureed). Transfer to a bowl.

  2. Add green onions, garlic, lemon zest and juice, parsley, dill, Old Bay, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.

  3. Form mixture into 4 equal patties, about 3/4-inch thick.

  4. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.

  5. Cook patties 4-5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.

  6. Toast buns if desired.

  7. Assemble burgers with salmon patties and coleslaw. Serve immediately.

Notes

Add avocado or tomato slices for freshness.

Use gluten-free buns or lettuce wraps to make gluten-free.

Mix in Dijon mustard or mayo for creamier patties.

Substitute fresh herbs with dried if needed.

Serve with spicy aioli or tartar sauce for extra flavor.

Store leftovers in airtight container, refrigerate up to 2 days, reheat gently.
