These Soft Crescent Rolls are golden, buttery, and pillowy with a soft interior. A perfect addition to any meal, they are easy to make with simple ingredients and are sure to be a hit at the table.

Ingredients

400 g flour

7 g instant yeast

15 g granulated sugar

7 g salt

35 ml sunflower oil

225 ml water

40 g butter

1 egg

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add sunflower oil and water, stirring until the dough starts to come together.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Punch down the dough, roll it out into a large rectangle (1/4 inch thick), and cut into 8-10 wedges.
  7. Roll each wedge into a crescent shape, starting from the wider end.
  8. Place the crescent rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  9. Beat the egg and brush it over the rolls for a shiny finish.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  11. Brush with melted butter immediately after baking for extra flavor.

Notes

For a garlic twist, add minced garlic and Parmesan to the dough.

For cheese-filled rolls, place a small piece of cheese inside before baking.

For a sweet version, sprinkle cinnamon and sugar over the dough before rolling.
