Texas Roadhouse Butter Chicken Skillet brings the flavors of the iconic restaurant to your kitchen with perfectly seared chicken breasts in a rich, buttery, honey-infused sauce. This easy, one-pan meal is perfect for weeknight dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

2 tbsp olive oil

¼ cup unsalted butter

2 tsp honey

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

¼ cup chicken broth

1 tbsp chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
  2. Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Make the Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter. Add the honey, chicken broth, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Stir to combine, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
  4. Simmer the Sauce: Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  5. Return the Chicken to the Skillet: Place the cooked chicken breasts back into the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for 1-2 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with chopped parsley for garnish before serving.

Notes

For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili flakes to the butter sauce.

Add some lemon juice for a citrus twist to balance the sweetness of the honey.

For a creamy version, add a splash of heavy cream to the sauce.

Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
