These white chocolate matcha cookies combine the earthy, vibrant flavor of matcha green tea with creamy white chocolate in a soft, chewy cookie. Perfectly balanced and easy to make, they’re an ideal snack or dessert for matcha lovers.

Ingredients

125 g (½ cup) unsalted butter, room temperature

150 g (¾ cup) granulated sugar

1 large egg

180 g (1½ cups) all-purpose flour

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon baking powder

4 teaspoons matcha powder

150 g (⅔ cup) white chocolate (Callebaut or quality chips), chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in egg until combined.

  4. Sift flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and matcha powder together.

  5. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet, mixing until just combined.

  6. Fold in white chocolate evenly.

  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized dough onto baking sheet, spacing 2 inches apart.

  8. Bake 10-12 minutes until edges set but centers remain soft.

  9. Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use white chocolate chunks or mix with milk chocolate.

Add toasted sesame seeds or nuts for texture.

Substitute matcha with hojicha powder for roasted flavor.

Drizzle matcha glaze or melted white chocolate for decoration.
