Indulge in a creamy, sweet White Hot Chocolate made with rich white chocolate, whole milk, and heavy cream. This decadent drink is perfect for cozy evenings, offering a smooth, comforting twist on the classic hot chocolate. Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or caramel for the ultimate treat.

Ingredients

3 cups whole milk

1 cup heavy cream (see notes)

6 ounces white chocolate, finely chopped

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Whipped cream or marshmallows for topping

Instructions

  • Heat the Milk and Cream: In a medium saucepan, combine the whole milk and heavy cream. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it begins to steam and is just about to simmer (but not boiling).

  • Add the White Chocolate: Reduce the heat to low and add the finely chopped white chocolate. Stir continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth and creamy.

  • Add Vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

  • Serve: Pour the white hot chocolate into mugs and top with whipped cream or marshmallows.

  • Optional Toppings: Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or drizzle caramel for extra flavor and visual appeal.

Notes

If you prefer a lighter version, substitute the heavy cream with more whole milk.

For a dairy-free option, use almond, oat, or coconut milk and coconut cream, and ensure the white chocolate is dairy-free.

Add a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, or peppermint extract for extra flavor.

For a spiced variation, include cardamom or a vanilla bean for aromatic depth.
