Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Chicken Wings coated in a zesty lemon pepper seasoning, enhanced with a buttery honey lemon sauce. Perfect for a quick snack or appetizer, these wings are air fried to perfection, delivering a deliciously tangy and savory taste with less oil.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

  • 1 pound chicken wings (about 10 wings, wingette and drummette separated)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

Lemon Pepper Sauce

  • ¼ cup melted butter or ghee
  • ½ tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
  • 1 ½ tablespoons fresh lemon juice (from half the zested lemon)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt (adjusted for sauce)

Instructions

  1. Prep the Wings: Pat the chicken wings dry thoroughly using paper towels to ensure crispiness. Place them in a mixing bowl.
  2. Season the Wings: Add olive or avocado oil, lemon pepper seasoning, and kosher salt to the wings. Toss well to coat all pieces evenly.
  3. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer at 390℉ (200℃) for 2 to 3 minutes, ensuring it is ready for cooking.
  4. Cook the Wings: Arrange the wings in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook for 18 to 20 minutes, flipping or shaking the basket every 5 minutes to promote even cooking and crispiness.
  5. Prepare the Sauce: While wings cook, stir together melted butter or ghee, honey, finely grated lemon zest, fresh lemon juice, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt in a bowl until well combined and warm.
  6. Serve: Serve the air-fried chicken wings alongside the lemon pepper dipping sauce, or toss the wings in a bit of the sauce before plating for extra flavor.

Notes

  • Ensure wings are patted dry for maximum crispiness.
  • Shake the basket multiple times during air frying for even cooking.
  • Adjust honey amount in sauce to taste for sweetness preference.
  • Use ghee instead of butter for a dairy-free option if desired.
  • Leftover sauce can be stored refrigerated for up to 3 days.
