A refreshing and vibrant Blueberry Gin Fizz cocktail featuring homemade blueberry syrup, fresh lime juice, gin, and triple sec, topped with fizzy seltzer water and garnished with fresh blueberries and mint. Perfect for a quick, elegant drink in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Blueberry Syrup

  • ½ cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar

Cocktail

  • 1 ½ ounce homemade blueberry syrup (or more to taste)
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 3 ounces gin
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • Ice (as needed)
  • Seltzer water (about 12 ounces)

Garnishes

  • Fresh blueberries
  • Sprig of mint
  • Edible flowers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Make Blueberry Syrup: Combine blueberries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce to medium-low heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes, crushing the berries with a fork to release juices.
  2. Cool and Strain Syrup: Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool to room temperature. Pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer, pressing down with a spoon to extract all the juice, discarding solids.
  3. Mix Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 ½ ounces of the homemade blueberry syrup with fresh lime juice, gin, and triple sec. Add a handful of ice cubes.
  4. Shake: Shake vigorously for about one minute until well chilled.
  5. Serve: Strain the cocktail mixture evenly between two 16-ounce cocktail glasses, discarding the ice from the shaker.
  6. Add Ice and Seltzer: Add fresh ice cubes to each glass and top off with approximately 6 ounces of seltzer water per glass.
  7. Garnish and Enjoy: Garnish each glass with fresh blueberries, a sprig of mint, and edible flowers if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use fresh or frozen blueberries to make the syrup.
  • Adjust the amount of blueberry syrup to your preferred sweetness and flavor intensity.
  • Triple sec adds a citrusy sweetness but can be substituted with other orange liqueurs if preferred.
  • Make sure to shake the cocktail well to combine flavors and chill the drink.
  • Serve in 16-ounce glasses to accommodate ice and seltzer comfortably.
  • Fresh garnishes enhance presentation and aroma but are optional.
