This Easy Apple Bread is a moist and flavorful quick bread perfect for breakfast or a cozy snack. Made with diced apples and a delightful cinnamon-sugar swirl, it’s simple to prepare and yields soft, tender slices with a sweet and spicy crust.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups white granulated sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • ⅔ cup vegetable oil

Add-ins

  • 1 cup apples (diced and peeled)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Cinnamon Sugar Topping

  • ⅔ cup white granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your loaf pans thoroughly to prevent sticking.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together 2 cups sugar, 4 cups flour, baking powder, and salt until combined. Set this mixture aside.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: Using a stand mixer fitted with a beater or a large mixing bowl and hand mixer, beat the eggs, milk, and vegetable oil together just until mixed.
  4. Incorporate dry into wet: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring just until moistened. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender. Fold in the diced and peeled apples along with 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon evenly.
  5. Prepare the loaf pans: Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pans, filling each up to two-thirds full to allow for rising during baking.
  6. Make the cinnamon sugar topping: In a small bowl, combine ⅔ cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the batter in each pan, then gently swirl it in with a knife to create a marbled effect.
  7. Bake the bread: Place the pans in the oven and bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pans before removing.

Notes

  • Peeling apples helps to improve texture, but you can leave the peel on for added nutrients and fiber if desired.
  • Use tart apples like Granny Smith for a tangy flavor or sweeter varieties like Fuji or Gala to enhance sweetness.
  • Folding the batter gently avoids overmixing which can make the bread tough.
  • Make sure to grease the loaf pans well to prevent sticking, or use parchment paper liners.
  • Adjust baking time based on your oven; start checking for doneness at 35 minutes.
