These fluffy pancakes are a classic breakfast favorite, featuring a light and airy texture with a perfect balance of sweet and vanilla flavors. Quick to prepare and cook, they make a delightful morning treat for the whole family.

Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 Tbsp granulated sugar
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir these dry ingredients together thoroughly.
  2. Add Wet Ingredients: Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the milk, melted butter, vanilla extract, and the large egg. Whisk gently until the batter is mostly smooth with some small lumps remaining. If the batter feels too thick, add a little more milk to reach your preferred consistency.
  3. Preheat Pan: Heat a nonstick pan or griddle over medium-low heat. Lightly grease the surface with some butter to prevent sticking.
  4. Cook Pancakes: Using a 1/4 cup measure, pour batter onto the pan and gently smooth into a round shape using the back of the measuring cup. Cook until the underside is golden and bubbles form on top, then flip carefully with a spatula. Cook the other side until golden brown.
  5. Serve: Repeat cooking with the remaining batter. Serve the warm pancakes with maple syrup, honey, fresh fruit, or your favorite toppings and enjoy a delicious breakfast.

Notes

  • You can adjust the batter thickness by adding more milk if needed.
  • For extra fluffy pancakes, do not overmix the batter; some lumps are okay.
  • Use medium-low heat to cook the pancakes evenly without burning.
  • Butter or oil can be used to grease the pan as preferred.
  • Store leftover pancakes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; reheat them in a toaster or microwave before serving.
