This Green Protein Smoothie is a vibrant and nutritious blend perfect for a quick breakfast or post-workout boost. Packed with leafy greens, plant-based protein, and superfood seeds, it offers a refreshing and energizing drink that supports a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Ingredients

Fruits and Vegetables

  • 1 ripe banana (frozen)
  • 1 cup spinach leaves
  • ½ cup kale leaves (chopped)
  • ½ cup cucumber (chopped)
  • ½ cup frozen pineapple chunks

Seeds and Protein

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds or flax seeds
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 scoop vegan protein powder (about 20-25g, such as pea protein or hemp protein)

Liquids and Extras

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • ½ lemon (juiced, optional for added freshness)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a colder smoothie)

Instructions

  1. Freeze the Banana: Peel the ripe banana and slice it into chunks, then freeze for at least 1 hour to ensure a creamy and cold smoothie base.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Add the frozen banana chunks, spinach leaves, chopped kale, chopped cucumber, frozen pineapple chunks, chia or flax seeds, hemp seeds, vegan protein powder, almond milk, and lemon juice (if using) into a blender. Add ice cubes if you prefer a colder drink.
  3. Blend Until Smooth: Blend all ingredients on high speed until smooth and creamy. Adjust consistency by adding more almond milk if too thick, or more ice/frozen fruit if too thin.
  4. Final Blend: Blend again to ensure all ingredients are fully combined and the desired consistency is achieved.
  5. Serve: Pour the smoothie into glasses and enjoy immediately to experience the freshest flavor and maximum nutrition.

Notes

  • Using frozen banana and pineapple chunks creates a naturally chilled smoothie without added ice.
  • Feel free to substitute the seeds and protein powder with your preferred variety for different nutritional benefits.
  • Add lemon juice for a bright, fresh flavor but omit if you prefer a sweeter smoothie.
  • For a thinner smoothie, gradually add more almond milk rather than water to maintain flavor.
  • Perfect for vegan and plant-based diets.
