Baked to a golden perfection and sprinkled with powdered sugar, these crescents offer a perfect balance of sweet and citrus flavors, making them an ideal dessert or snack for any occasion.

Ingredients

Crescent Rolls

  • 2 packages Original Crescent Rolls (16 crescents total)

Lemon Cream Cheese Filling

  • 6 oz Cream Cheese, room temperature
  • 2 Tablespoons Lemon Curd
  • 1 Teaspoon Lemon Zest
  • 1 Tablespoon fresh Lemon Juice
  • 3 Tablespoons Powdered Sugar

Topping

  • Extra Powdered Sugar for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, lemon curd, lemon zest, lemon juice, and 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar. Use a wire whisk to beat the mixture until it is smooth and creamy, ensuring all ingredients are well incorporated.
  3. Prepare Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate all 16 individual crescent triangles on a flat surface.
  4. Add Filling: Place approximately 1 tablespoon of the lemon cream cheese mixture on the widest portion of each crescent triangle to ensure even distribution.
  5. Roll Crescents: Starting from the widest end of the triangle, roll the crescent dough over the filling towards the narrow end, tucking the end underneath to seal in the filling.
  6. Arrange and Bake: Place all filled and rolled crescents onto the prepared baking sheet, spaced slightly apart to allow for expansion during baking. Bake in your preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until the crescents turn a lovely golden brown color.
  7. Cool and Transfer: Remove the baking sheet from the oven and allow the crescents to cool for a few minutes. Then, gently use a spatula to transfer them to a wire cooling rack to cool completely or serve warm.
  8. Add Powdered Sugar: Once sufficiently cooled or just before serving, sift extra powdered sugar over the crescents for a delicate sweet finish.
  9. Serve: These crescents are best enjoyed warm, allowing the creamy lemon filling to shine through the flaky crust.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is at room temperature to make mixing easier and achieve a smooth filling.
  • If lemon curd is not available, you can substitute with additional lemon zest and more lemon juice along with a bit of sugar for sweetness.
  • Use parchment paper on the baking sheet to prevent sticking and promote even baking.
  • For an extra lemony touch, add a little lemon zest to the powdered sugar before sifting.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container; consume within 2 days for best freshness.
