This One Pan Baked Dumplings recipe offers a flavorful and easy way to enjoy tender dumplings simmered in a rich red curry coconut sauce. It’s a convenient, all-in-one dish perfect for a comforting weeknight meal, combining the savory taste of dumplings with aromatic Thai-inspired curry flavors.

Ingredients

Dumplings

  • 18-20 dumplings (fresh or frozen)

Sauce

  • 1 cup full-fat coconut cream
  • 1 cup vegetable or chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp red curry paste
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp lime juice

Garnishes

  • Cilantro, for garnish
  • Scallions, sliced, for garnish
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chili oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to prepare for baking the dumplings.
  2. Warm Broth: Heat the broth in the microwave until hot; this step helps to dissolve the red curry paste more easily when mixing the sauce.
  3. Prepare Sauce: In a baking dish, whisk together the warm broth, full-fat coconut cream, red curry paste, soy sauce or tamari, honey, and lime juice until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  4. Add Dumplings: Place the frozen or fresh dumplings directly into the baking dish with sauce, ensuring they are coated by spooning some sauce over the top.
  5. Cover and Bake: Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, allowing the dumplings to cook through and absorb the flavorful sauce.
  6. Uncover and Finish Baking: Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 10 minutes until the dumplings turn tender and develop a lightly golden exterior.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Once baked, garnish the dumplings with fresh cilantro, sliced scallions, sesame seeds, and drizzle chili oil to add extra heat before serving warm.

Notes

  • Using frozen dumplings directly from the freezer works well and saves time.
  • If you prefer a vegetarian version, opt for vegetable broth and dumplings without meat.
  • Adjust the amount of red curry paste according to your spice tolerance.
  • Covering the dish ensures the dumplings cook evenly and stay moist.
  • Serve with steamed rice or a light salad for a complete meal.
