Snickers Salad is a quick and delicious dessert salad combining creamy vanilla pudding, whipped topping, chopped Snickers bars, and crisp Granny Smith apples, all drizzled with caramel sauce. It’s a crowd-pleaser that’s perfect for potlucks or family gatherings, serving up a sweet, crunchy, and creamy treat in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Salad Base

  • 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3/4 cup milk (use 2% or whole)
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip (thawed but still cold)

Add-ins

  • 4 standard size Snickers bars
  • 4 Granny Smith apples

Topping

  • Caramel sauce (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding mixture: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until the mixture becomes smooth and thickened, ensuring no lumps remain.
  2. Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold the thawed but cold Cool Whip into the pudding mixture, combining carefully to keep the mixture light and airy.
  3. Chop Snickers and apples: Cut the Snickers bars and Granny Smith apples into small, bite-sized pieces. Reserve some Snickers pieces for garnishing on top of the salad later.
  4. Combine ingredients: Add the chopped apples and most of the Snickers pieces into the pudding mixture bowl. Mix gently to evenly distribute the pieces without crushing them.
  5. Garnish and chill: Top the salad with the reserved Snickers pieces and drizzle caramel sauce over the top. For best flavor and texture, keep the salad cold by storing it in the refrigerator. If ingredients are at room temperature, cover and chill for 30 minutes to an hour before serving.

Notes

  • Keep the salad cold to prevent the apples from browning and to maintain crisp texture.
  • Chill the finished salad for at least 30 minutes if ingredients start at room temperature.
  • The salad may release some liquid if stored for too long due to the apples; best served within a few hours of preparation.
  • Use Granny Smith apples for their tartness which balances the sweetness of the Snickers and pudding.
  • Adjust caramel sauce amount according to your preferred sweetness level.
