Enjoy a delightful Viral Cherry Vanilla Latte that’s both refreshing and flavorful, featuring a homemade cherry syrup with a low-sugar option. This latte combines rich espresso with creamy milk, cherry sweetness, and a hint of vanilla, perfect for a unique coffee experience.

Ingredients

Cherry Syrup

  • 2 cups frozen cherries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4-1/3 cup allulose (adjust to taste; can substitute with coconut sugar or regular sugar)

Cherry Latte

  • 2-3 tbsp cherry sauce (from above recipe)
  • 1-2 shots espresso
  • 3 tbsp milk of choice (almond, coconut, or regular milk)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (regular or dairy-free)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Ice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cherries: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the frozen cherries, water, and allulose. Heat until the mixture begins to simmer.
  2. Simmer the mixture: Let it simmer for about 8-10 minutes while stirring occasionally, until the cherries soften and release their juices. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Blend the syrup: Use an immersion blender directly in the pot or transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth to create the cherry syrup.
  4. Adjust consistency: If the sauce is too thick, add a little more water to reach your desired consistency.
  5. Brew the espresso: Prepare 1-2 shots of espresso using a Nespresso machine, espresso machine, or a strong brewed coffee alternative.
  6. Froth the milk and cream: Combine the milk, heavy cream, and optional vanilla extract. Froth the mixture using a milk frother or whisk until slightly foamy.
  7. Assemble the latte: Fill a glass with ice, add 2-3 tablespoons of cherry sauce, pour in the brewed espresso, then top with the frothed milk and cream mixture. Stir well to combine all flavors.
  8. Top and enjoy: Optionally, garnish with an extra drizzle of cherry sauce or a sprinkle of cinnamon for added flavor and presentation.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness of the cherry syrup by varying the amount of allulose or sugar used.
  • Use dairy-free cream and milk alternatives for a vegan or lactose-free version.
  • Cold brew coffee can substitute espresso for a less intense coffee flavor.
  • Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
  • The cherry syrup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
